If you’d like more features, and a complete dataset, and you might want to wait for Austin Burk’s much more comprehensive Flipnote Archive project.Īdditionally, lots of the Flipnotes unfortunately had audio issues introduced during Nintendo's conversion process to Flipnote Studio 3D format due to a bug on their end for more details and a tool which does its best to correct the issue, see our kwz-restoration project. The archive we're pulling from also only contains a small portion of the data from Flipnote Hatena around 476,300 Flipnotes out of 44,351,673 in total. We also aren't able to retrieve these Flipnotes in a format that's compatible with Flipnote Studio on the DSi. It’s not possible to search for a specific username, and since Hatena removed old Hatena Star functionality in October of 2020, it's no longer possible to search by Hatena ID either.

Unfortunately, we're only able to fetch Flipnotes by Flipnote Studio ID. Python3 flipnote_fetcher.py 97849B20AA34FFBC. To find how many Flipnotes are archived for a user's Flipnote Studio ID (e.g.

in 2021!? 👀 Wait, What?Īfter Flipnote Hatena was closed down, Nintendo converted all user-created Flipnotes to make them accessible from Flipnote Studio 3D's "DSi Library" feature.

I really miss flipnote hatena, even though I posted very rarely, it was so inspiring to see other creator's flipnotes.Pssst, if you don't know how to run Python scripts and are just here because you want to download Flipnotes from Hatena, check out Kaeru Gallery at for an easy-to-use web tool! Hopefully there will be a release soon, it makes me wonder why Nintendo keeps changing the release date- first it's the begginning of summer, then the end of august, and now it's TBD (to be determined).

However, I don't understand why the software can't be released to the US now, while the online community would be delayed. I've read (it may just be rumors) that Japan users are heavily using the online servers and it is difficult to add in another. Also, will there be a way for flipnotes from the DSi to be opened on an SD card to be edited on 3DS? My concern is whether both softwares use different types of files, then it could not work. I wouldn't be able to test it out on a DSi or 3DS, but how does a flipnote's resolution change from 3DS (or DSi) when viewed on an XL? Wouldn't a 3DS (or DSi) flipnote have a poorer resolution on an XL? Not sure how it works.

Three new colors, an adjustable rotating and shrinking/enlargening option, and a few other convenient features. So far, all the new features advertised on flipnote studio 3D are luring me into saving up for a 3DS.
